Folks here like to say that Texas is “like a whole other country.” (Once upon a time it was!) Yes, Texas is really, really big, but don’t you worry. We’ve been exploring the state our entire lives, and we’re old hands at scouting out the best adventures possible, so you don’t have to.
And while there’s a whole lot to choose from in the Lone Star state, we’ve always been especially partial to the grandeur of West Texas’ wide-open spaces, where towering mountain range—sky islands—are surrounded by vast desert vistas, dramatic canyons are carved by the mighty Rio Grande and internationally recognized dark skies abound.
