who travels with us?
Our groups typically consist of active people with a wide variety of backgrounds and interests. They’ve ranged in age from 10-83 (with most between their 30’s and 60’s), and there is always a healthy mix of singles, couples and even families. They elect group travel to meet new people, share fun experiences, and eliminate the guesswork and hassles of logistical details that often detract from the journey.

what level of skill is necessary?
Our tours are suited for a wide variety of participants, from the absolute beginner to the experienced veteran. We’re reluctant to “rate” our trips because we’ve seen novices finish at the head of the pack, and seasoned athletes taking their time. Our attentive van support is a great equalizer, and with the moderate mileage on most of our biking and walking tours, you can relax and go at your own pace without extra baggage or hassles. We have provided notes on the average mileage and terrain for each of our adventures to serve as a helpful guide.

which tour is right for me?
Every Planet Earth Adventure is a unique experience that combines unusual attractions, out of the way places and quite frequently, special events that only occur on that given trip. If you’d like more information on any of our adventures, call us. We’ll be happy to provide first-hand details of routes, accommodations, festivals, and more for any of our trips.

do I need special equipment?
You don’t need an arsenal of specialized gear to enjoy our tours, but knowing what to bring is invaluable. When you register, we’ll send you a bundle of recommendations that will make your journey much more enjoyable.

do I have to have my own bike?
It’s not necessary to bring a bike to join in the fun–you can rent one from us! We now offer top quality Bianchi 21 speed hybrid bikes equipped with water bottles, rear carriers, pumps and patch kits. If you prefer your own bike, you’re welcome to bring it along. We’ll even send you info on how prepare it for travel, and help you get it together upon arrival. Note that for international travel, your bike generally flies free as checked luggage.

do you organize private tours?
Custom tours are one of our strengths. As a small outfitter, we handle everything from the initial reservations to the final good byes in a direct, caring manner. Consequently, we know what sights, routes and amenities your group might appreciate. Each year we lead a limited number of tours for a variety of groups. Gather a minimum of eight people together and give us a call!
