Ireland from Coast to Coast
Days 1 2
We begin in Irelands capital, Dublin,
where splendid Georgian architecture and vibrant street scenes
blend into one magnificent mixture of past and present. Take
an historic tour, visit Trinity College, the Guinness Brewery
and shop on Grafton Street before our evening reception.
Just minutes from city centre well cruise into the spectacular
Wicklow Mountains. Highlights on our ride include the magnificent
Powerscourt Gardens and the beautiful valley of Glendalough,
as well as our final destination itself the vale of Avoca.
(The film location for Ballykissangel for all those of you who
are fans.)
Day 3 4
From County Wicklow well meander down quiet backroads
through County Carlow, across the River Barrow and into Kilkenny,
Irelands loveliest inland city, where the medieval heritage
of the once powerful earls of Ormonde is still evident. The
citys rich history and narrow lane-ways are a joy to explore.
Enjoy a rest day with a guided tour of the city and majestic
Kilkenny Castle. Or join us for an optional cycle through the
Nore and Barrow River valleys where you will find picture-postcard
scenery, a dash of history, some of Irelands most famous
crafts people, and tea-time in a hidden glen!
Days 5 6
From Kilkenny well ride through Sean Kelly Square in Carrick-on-Suir,
with plenty more historic stops along the way. Then following
the River Suir in the shadow of the Comeragh Mountains, we cycle
through Clonmel and on to historic Cahir.
Visit Cahir Castle, then rise to the challenge as we
pedal through the Vee, a gap in the Knockmealdown Mountains.
Following our blissful descent its on through the Blackwater
River Valley and the town of Mallow
in County Cork.
Days 7 9
The majesty of Corks mountain scenery unfolds as we cut
a winding path through the Derrynasaggert and Shehy Mountains
on some of the most breathtaking roads anywhere in the country.
Stop for a pint as you pass by the highest pub in Ireland. The
picturesque town of Kenmare is
our home for the next three nights. Discover the rugged
beauty of the Beara Peninsula, one of Irelands best-kept
secrets. Exotic gardens, pages of history and sensational scenery
surround you! If you have chosen the nine-day option,
then regrettably its time to head for Shannon. Otherwise
turn your attention to the Ring of Kerry on a less traveled
route that promises awe-inspiring scenery.
Days 10 11
For all you lucky souls who continue our coast to coast adventure,
the sensory overload just goes on as we ride from Kenmare to
Killarney for our next two-night
sojourn! Youll easily discover why Killarney has been
a Mecca for outdoor pursuits since the Victorian era.
Take a free day to explore Killarney National Park, Ross Castle,
a hill walk in the nearby mountains, or the classic boat ride
across the lakes of Killarney - Queen Victorias favorite!
Days 12 14
We complete our coast to coast journey as we ramble to Dingle,
the true gem of County Kerry. Spend two days exploring the Dingle
Peninsula, a treasure trove of ancient history and breathtaking
panoramas, and two nights enjoying Dingles nightlife in
over 60 pubs! We conclude our adventure with a flourish as we
gather for our final banquet.
Day 15
After breakfast we’ll see you safely top Shannon for your final departure on to your next adventure. As always, you’ll receive our heart-felt “Slan Abhaile.” As always, you’ll receive our heart-felt “Slan Abhaile” and depart knowing that you have just ridden Ireland from Coast to Coast!
